Google Maps - Street View

This feature now covers the local area, including Christie Park and the new stadium site. I think it was done around August 2009. Go to http://maps.google.co.uk/ making sure you select the "Satellite" view for the location you want, and click on the little orange person symbol. You can zoom in and out, drag the view around 360 degrees and move back and forth along routes. It seems that vehicle registration numbers and people's faces are blurred out, yet I can see right into my living room with the curtains open! 8-)

Was playing round with this before - if you go onto the road down by the Lune in front of the Golden Ball pub, some of the images are sideways - looks like one of the cameras fell over :D

I've seen the Moscow State Circus in Ryelands Park on one of the photos; that would give a weeks timescale for it to have been done. However other views from Greyhound bridge are from a different day; but looking at the Lancaster City fixture board they were taken the week approaching the 17th October :)
