I've got to be honest, on the odd occasion I've seen live sport on my parents' HDTV, I've barely noticed a difference. The only thing that HD seems to be any real use for is nature programmes :)

On a standard tube 100hz tv you already have the same quality as HD.
The difference is that without having a tube six feet deep behind your 42,50,65 ins tv
a new technology had to be invented to let the screen size increase, but keeping the same quality of picture, whilst keeping the depth of tv to a minimum,
giving people the option to wall mount big tellys.
This is why HD was invented. :ugeek:

We've recently purchased a mahoosive plasma which would be more than happy to show HD, but until freeview is converted and HD TV cards are reasonably priced for our media centre, we'll just stick to what we have ;)
