Gigg Lane game

Starting yet another topic on this game (until it gets locked  )

Much improved from last week and an open enjoyable game in the main - quite different from last week - with some positives to come out of it. We pushed hard for the opening spell and were worth the lead. Looked much better going forward, with Blinks working hard and winning a lot in the air, Rene strong and thought Wayne had a great game. Thought we created plenty of chances and were unlucky not get an equaliser. I'd like to see Stanners back in mid-field, perhaps along side Garry Hunter or Drummie to give us more cutting thrust and quicker chasing back. Sammy definately needs to make better use of subs to spice things up and give them sufficient time to have an impact. Overall though I don't think we're too bad, having come up against some of this seasons stronger teams - it's just that weve got the Daggers then Shrews next - and where are they

I locked the other threads so we could keep the board cleaner - nothing more.
That sounds like a pretty positive report, Vinny.

Thanks

That's great Vinny, something positive amongst all the negativity. It's nice to see.

reminded me of a conversation with an old soldier who said that during WW2 they used to say when the Germans fire, the British duck, when the British fire, the Germans duck but when the Yanks fire EVERYONE ducks

He escaped from Colditz for real, he did  nice old guy.
