Worrying stats

Postby Blackpool Shrimp » Sat Feb 06, 2010 5:54 pm

Not been negative before everyone starts putting me down but stats are a bit worrying - 5 points from last 21 also one of worst defences in league 2 no good scoring nearly 50 goals if your conceding nearly 50 goals next two home games very tough against teams who have hit bit of form

An accurate assessment John. Defence seems to be our downfall on too many occassions....and not only this season!

Was surprised to read of the subs who came on and who they replaced.

It sounds as though we played with only a single striker (Paul M) from the 77th minute? What's all that about.... :?: :?: :?:

We only played with a single striker from the first minute...

Personally I think the problem is in midfield - not enough cover defensively often, and lacks a cutting edge going forward.

I'm commenting on the season as a whole rather than today. Everyone else who's offered an opinion so far wasn't there either. But I'll go now.

Camp dave how can you say Sammy to get sacked my god you idiot.

Sure you want Morecambe to become a secure football league team with the same manager under a new stadium????

Sammy to stay this is Morecambe's future with sammy at the helm

Surely it was a sarcastic remark?
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

The only way Sammy Mac would get sacked is if the chairman had somebody else in mind or he walked away from the job and personally i cant see that happening.

So MR Negative campdave have your stupid view too yourself ok

Its bad when you see the stats, but the reason for us scoring more is our defending players are pushing forward more and giving us extra attacking options which are leading to more goals, our problem is covering on the counter attack its all good and well pushing your defense up to create more goals but if players don't come back and cover then we are going to concede a lot of goals, if we can get the balance right then we will be able to turn every team in the league over!!!

It is a work in progress and I am sure Sammy can sort it, yes when we were on the back foot a couple of months ago I said sammy out if he lost the next game did he lose no we went on a very nice streak and I take back what I said back then....long may we continue to progress!!

Darren is there any need to call his comment stupid!!! I think you should sit back and relax, Dave has a valid opinion and yes I am one who hates negativity but we are all entitled to our opinions!!

to me it's in the midfield where we are losing it, SM needs to find the right balance and do some tweaking for the next game

Yep, he needs to tweak Hunter in and tweak Duffy out and get some porridge inside him. ;)

Garry Hunter why did he not play hope Sammy brings him in i know he is out of contract at the end of the season and in my opinion he is our best midfielder so i don't understand why Sammy Mac doesn't start him is it because of the rumour of him going to Huddlesfield?

Morecambe create alot of chances and the key for me is bringing in Gary Hunter alongside Drummond i remember watching Hunter vs Screwsbury and he was brillant.
