I could name a few. One close to home is still a genuine option but unlikely to be able to make the step up if needed as injury cover.

Over and above that there a couple of players with East Lancashire Prem clubs who could do with a run out.

Bear in mind the wording - "Sammy wants to" isn't the same as "Sammy will". The visitor have said this before, and a signing hasn't come out of it.

Exactly.

If it was me, I'd be looking to bring somebody younger and with a hunger and determination to make a name for themselves in the game. No clues as to who that would be.... ;) ;) ;)

Carl Baker used us (and we used him) to gain a foot on the ladder to bigger and better things.

I've no doubt that Mark Duffy was bought with that in mind.

I don't want anymore older heads in the camp. We need to be building for the future by investing in younger and to some extent raw talent; keen to listen and learn from the experience of both Sammy and Mark. Not short term fixes where demands for high wages put a drain on our limited resources.

Conlon's always caused us problems in the past. As a makeshift signing he would be ok. But yes he's got a dodgy temprement. Depends on how the other two are getting on with their injuries.
