when loyalty and integrity are words bandied around by fans, players and managers, lets look at the free hand burnley have given owen coyle, limited moneywise, the burnley board have tried their best to support him in every way possible, and he has worked wonders for the small town team, they have returned the favour by turning up in droves to sell out turf moor week in week out, speculation about the bolton job seems to have driven owen coyle into hiding, if he emerges to announce he is the new bolton manager, he will have betrayed the arguement about everything local football stands for, he will be the ultimate judas, and at bolton, wont even get 30 bits of silver, burnley are a town team we should aspire to be like, the people of burnley should be hoping owen coyle is as honest as them, soz rant over.

Great, another loyalty in football rant. Works when you want to keep a manager/player, but not when you want to get rid of them.

Have to agree CD.

Never been able to understand those who rant about a manager wanting to get a better contract but are themselves prepared to move jobs to provide a better income for their family.

In my opinion he's Judas. Yes he's got promotion and a carling cup semi final. But to walk out on Burnley and go a side step to Bolton, a team far worse of, making the wrong decision. He even turned down the Celtic and Scotland job in summer :|

i didn't believe it a few days ago, thinking well Bolton and Burnley there's not a lot between them size wise, and plus Owen Coyle being Scottish turned down the chance to manage Celtic in the summer, who are massive compared to both of them and would have had more money to play with.

cant understand it:?

I agree it's strange BUT could be something to do with what some fans think that Burnley lack ambition, which has been well documented on Radio Lancs. Coyle has come in for some flack of late.

He spent two years at Bolton as a player, is personal friends with the chairman and the chairman was the one who recommended him to the board of Burnley to get him the job in the first place, something he has publicly said that he regrets because he'd have got Coyle earlier if he'd not gone to Burnley. It's not that strange that he's considering/being considered for the Bolton job.

The Burnley board are to be admired for their position on refusing to allow the club to go into debt. To many clubs get themselves in a mess "chasing the dream". The same fans expressing "lack of ambition" are probably the same ones who would be saying "sack the board" if they did get into financial straits chasing big money players.
