I believe Wenger at Arsenal has a complete ban on alcohol during the season. The modern game means players have to be 100% fit all the time, not only training but also eating the right stuff. Going out drinking undoes all that work. Perhaps even as little as 15 years ago it would be fine but nowadays you need every advantage you can get.
