Read this if you can be bothered, the game might be over by the time you get to the end

Interesting that if you become all seater you have to stay that way even if relegated.

Both the Taylor Report and the model ground regulations implicitly distinguish short term standing during moments of excitement :o

"so as not to be buffeted, smothered or un-sighted by large and more robust people"

Have they ever sat next to CC?

This is the biggest load of twaddle going.

Why do they not make the Man Utd and Liverpool fans sit down in the Stretford End or Kop yet we are hounded by stewards at places like Shrewsbury and Rochdale yet the Home fans seem to unaffected by these rules. We are Morecambe not Millwall (who by the way would not be asked to sit down by frightened stewards).

I think the worst I've seen was when 'contracted stewarding' took over at Giant Axe a couple of seasons ago, when Charlie the Gypo briefly took over the Chair.
There were great expectations after pre-season against Patrick Thistle and East Stirling.
We were stood in front of The Shed behind the goal, behind the barrier, and some jobsworth steward told to move under The Shed.
There was only a dozen of us, including Mad Cyril, making a baker's dozenI suppose :)
They should have been glad we woz there.
Anyway I'm not no more.

Yet common sense prevailed at Darlo last night when the stewards allowed both sets of fans behind the goals to stand if they wanted towards the back of the empty stands.

The Newcastle fans stood all through the game because the stewards would have been frightened to ask them to sit down whilst the Preston fans were easy pickings.
