New Stadium Legend Wall

New Stadium Legend Wall

Postby Christies Child » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:30 am

If this topic has been discussed before, then my apology. However with the recent loss of former Shrimp stalwarts such as Ray Charnley; Roy Evans and Joe Dunn i wonder if it is worth considering having a Legends wall somewhere in the new stadium where the club and supporters past, present and future can celebrate the achievements and contributions of players / managers who have over the years contributed to the success of our club.

No doubt many names would be put forward, but for me any selection would include those names above plus Ken Waterhouse; Lance Millard; John Coleman; Keith Borrowdale; Ian Whitehead; JimHarvey; Bob Baldwin; Sammy Mc; Jimbo.....to name but a few.

:) :) :)

One of the bars could be called legends and there could be pictures/action shots of the people etc

i'd have thought that you'd have to limit it to dead/ retired fully from the game.

are you really suggesting that JC or JH would be on there? for footballing reasons certianly, but current opposition managers?

Just because they are with another club in whatever capacity, shouldn't preclude them from inclusion surely? Are we not bigger than being so narrow in our thinking?

What happens as and when Jimbo takes up managment with possibly another club?

Do we wait until Sammy Mc retires?

I am sure it is already in hand. Our Bosses, Directors and planning team know what they are doing. Best let them get on with it ;) If you keep on bringing up suggestions you are bound to get one right in the end CC

But maybe that is your plan and then you can say I told you so etc.!

ps you can buy a brick in the wall at Burnley for £39.99p

In my opinion it's better to make public ones thoughts and ideas to raise the profile of our club, than to remain silent and then complain that an opportunity has been missed. No apology from me in preferring to put forward ideas as and when....but that's probably due to my former role in marketing services where I had to raise the profile of businesses by a variety of means including their visual presentation in the market place.

What, the Wembley one complete with the grass stains?! I thought that would be kept in a big frame for our new stadium.

;)
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!
