Just taken a delivery this week of Remembrance Beer from York Ales.

Mitchell's are donating 10p of every pint sold to the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

It's a light coloured bitter with a slight fruity aroma and at 4.5% no slouch - one for the discerning drinkers (Ockers).

Them Blue-Liners were horrible things to smoke.
We got issued with stamps every month to exchange down Naval Stores for the things. Can't remember what they cost, but it was cheap.
Not before time, they eventually met their demise, but not before contributing to the premature membership of Davy Jones' Locker for many.

Not sure about the bum bit ;)

Get into the York next week after the Remembrance Day Parade on the prom - it promises to be the best ever good old squaddie, matelot, brill cream boy, bootie celebration.

And before any non serving civvie comments that we should remember our fallen comrades more quietly, I and many other service personnel have buried our comrades with great respect - then had the most horrendous piss up afterwards. That's what we do!

BTW - we are putting on a FREE curry and stew lunch plus an added bonus is that we have a Jazz Band playing and Chelsea v Man Utd at 4pm.

This is not a day for the faint hearted ;)

Matty - what is the problem - Service personnel drink loads of beer - we also remember our fallen comrades - money goes to the Legion - no brainer.

BTW - it is available in Mitchell's pubs but the best beer is sold in the York ;)
