Lincoln Match Poster.

A busy couple of weeks ahead with 2 home games and the prospect of a home draw in the FA Cup this Sunday lunchtime. So I thought we should get ahead of the game with the match poster for the Lincoln game.

When the Northampton poster came out I asked that people give me some feedback as to where they were being put up. I don't want to sound critical but......only 5 replies :( ? 243 views is ok if a good percentage are printing them off :?: If you feel we could spend the money and time better than producing these posters I would appreciate the feedback.

Linky thing on it's way for the high res version from the OWS

EDIT: Go to big linky thing here -->> http://www.morecambefc.com/page/NewsDet ... 85,00.html

Welcome to the apathetic world M.F.C....

I.M.O. there will only ever be a few on a football message board who :

a) Have a business or a "shop" window that they can put a poster up in ~ it's not much use putting it in your living room or bedroom window

b) Businesses that would maybe display a poster won't come on here very often and would'nt print it themselves without another incentive. (You generally find that events such as fireworks displays, Circus's etc bring their own posters round)

c) Many will feel it should be the Club promoting itself rather than leaving it to the fans.

d) Generally people will not do something for nothing. Making things happen usually relies on a small few.

It has been said before about promoting the games at College/University and I don't know if that is being done but could certainly be worth a go?

If businesses for example had a B.O.G.O.F. type deal with a match ticket or a free Programme voucher for displaying the posters it may create interest although I.D. of the individuals would really be required.

I can't see that many of the Match/Club Sponsors actually come on here do they?

Ramble Over

As I say this is my own opinion and it is not a dig in any way ;)

I live in a quite residential street only people who come down here are residents and visitors so not many people would see it that's the reason why I don't bother putting one up

an excellent production, very clever poster!

I would guess that it is still 'money well spent'. The key cost it producing the layout, hosting it is free and printing it is done by 'the few', so in terms of advertising I think it is still worth it. Getting some up at the college as Brian is doing, is hitting a big market for minimal cost. If someone can do the same at the Uni and St Martins, you've got a good coverage simply by three people printing them.

Putting them in house windows may be a good thing, even if you live on a quiet road, if it becomes a 'groundswell'?

Thank you very much for the feedback. We do have a reciprocal deal going on with the University so the posters are up in the majority of the colleges and bars/student hang outs on campus.

I have had a couple of emails and PM's with some good suggestions so watch this space over the next couple of weeks.

having posters in Polish is a great idea they like their football so if we could make them feel like a part for the club maybe we could pick up a few extra fans

My dad was telling me he was stood next to a couple of Polish lads at the game on Saturday, who appeared to be enjoying the game. Some specific Polish posters would be a great idea at some point.
