Wayne's Testimonial game....ON or OFF

Wayne's Testimonial game....ON or OFF

Postby Christies Child » Mon Sep 21, 2009 1:25 pm

It looks as though our longest serving player on the books at the moment, is unsure as to whether his proposed Testimonial game is on or off. As of Saturday, the clubs match day admin department haven't given him any indication as to whether it will be 'game on' for the proposed 9 May date.

As this late stage it will require a hell of a lot of work to get the 'by invitation' players sorted for that date, hence the reasoning behind Wayne's concern about whether the club will allow him to make use of that date.

Wayne deserves much, much better in terms of cooperation from the club than what he appears to be getting at the moment!

Assuming some of our first team, or even the entire, first team squad are to be involved, surely it depends on making the play-offs or not?

If the season ends on May 8, some of our players being involved in a match on May 9th is a no-no IMO, if we are going into playoff matches in the week after.

I agree if they leave it too late many people that could have been playing could have other thing on and may not be able to make it
