O/T - Come on, excite us...

Me and Doris are travelling up early Saturday morning.
It's over 2 years since we were last in Lancaster or Morecambe.
The smoking ban hadn't yet arrived, and even as non-smokers we quite enjoyed choking in't Tivoli.
What have we missed in those two years?
We've a good B&B deal at the Royal Kings Arms, but how can we best waste 4 days in the area.
Saturday afternoon is reserved for Crusty.
Saturday night, we'll get merry in Lancaster. Is The Phoenix or Railway Club still where it all happens?
But what do we do Sunday, Monday and Tuesday?
The train to Morecambe is a must, and a wander west along the prom past Sandylands.
Lunch in The Coffee Pot, cheap and cheerful, run by a lovely couple. Is it still there?
Got to do the Bare end as well. We lived for a while on Princes Crescent right opposite Potts', loved the smell, but preferred Thirlwell's pies.
What's Happy Mount like these days?
Is there owt else to do in Morecambe?
What's happened in the last 2 years?
Where's a good spot to eat in Lancaster?
Which boozer? John O'Gaunt on Market Street?

Come on, excite us.

bits of hedgerow.

The coffee pot has just re opened but it is still the same people you will be pleased to know and still extremley cheap I believe.

The walk up to Heysham is great now they have spent a lot of money on that section of the prom.

Doesn't seem as though we've missed much in two years.
Shan't be too disappointed then.

Go for tea in The Midland. if you want to push the boat out, go for dinner. the food is great. If you are lucky enough to get a sunset, its a perfect setting. The new Eric Morecambe cafe looks great. Was The Palatine refurbed when you were here? If not worth popping in there for a couple.

If youre staying at KIns Arms in Lancaster then just go across the road to Robert Gillow for a good pint and food or next door to Merchants bit more expensive , then down to the Sun for another good pint , then across to Bar 11 to watch cricket for 10 mins . Then when its your round down to bottom Weatherspoons for a couple of cheapies , Pedigree is ok in there. Then across to bus station for 14.38 to Morecambe , bus stops right outside C.P. :D :D :D
