Was a superb effort, fantastic, thought we'd left all that camardaderie in the non-League.

Binny, rather than me going through the registration process on your forum, can you let them know there's a picture of it on our official site. The result was crap but the day was good and your staff couldn't have been friendlier. Not sure about the programme size though :?

The programme was a bit odd, first time it's been that size !

I saw a bloke outside the ground selling the programme.
I thought he was from Wickes just across the road.

As Binny has said, many thanks for the banner that you had on show yesterday, absolutely top drawer.

Enjoyed a pint or 2 with some of you in the Beech Inn

Good luck for the rest of the season

The Match Programme has come in many guises over the years as your bog standard collector will tell you. The A5 size is a favourite of West Ham; I dont know what there current one looks like , but I have a few going back to 70's 80's and there all A5 size and I think Orient had a liking for that size as well. The strangest ones I have are Derby Co from I think 70's again and there exactly like newspapers. Fascinating stuff isn't it ? ?
But programmes come in many different sizes - the really old ones I have are all A5 6 / 8 pages and the adverts are often the funniest read.

Thanks for passing on your fans' kind words, Binny and Earwig. Seeing past the result and our performance, it was a pleasure to contribute towards the banner and to be there and help hold it up. All the very best for the rest of your season and you'll be made most welcome for your final visit to Christie Park, where I hope we can win the points! ;)

"Yes thought the gesture was terrific, not only that Ben got presented with a figure of the late Eric Morecambe by their chairman too."

"Superb gesture by the Morecambe fans, thanks guys"

"Absolutely superb gesture and must have taken some organising?
Well done to all the Morecambe supporters for showing true sporting generosity"

"All paid for out of their own pockets too - brilliant"

"I sent a cheque for a tenner through the post a month ago.
Still not been cashed. "

"Massive respect for Morecambe fans. Always thought they were a great bunch - I remember going up there when we first got promoted to the conference. We had really good banter with them - we got well and truly stuffed that day though... "

Lovely comments - this should be how we all interact with fellow football supporters.

And just a mention for Barnet whose fans did the same for us and inspired us to this latest gesture.

Shouldn't forget them in all this.

Hi all,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped in some way with the banner at Burton.

Firstly a big thank you to Morecambe's very own Tradesignz http://www.tradesignz.co.uk. Mick and Norman will be happy to help you with all your signage and banner needs. They did it at an exceptional price and I'm very grateful to them.

Next up I want to thank all the donors who helped come up with the several hundred pounds needed. They are:

Alan & Sam Freear - for all your tropical fish needs River Reef next to the York!
John & Lynn Traynor - the first people to give me money and got the ball rolling
Heysham MFC (Jamie)
Wondershrimp
Outsider
Neil 'Pandalous Paddockus'
Glen 'Shrimper'
Graham 'Bare Bum' and Kath
Phil 'P/T Indie'
Neil 'Christie's Child'
Mark 'Marky No. 1' Lewis - How could I possibly forget him!!! You wonderful man you!!!!
Simmy - Sorry how could I miss you too!!! You are also wonderful!!!
Gary Hocking and The Sardines on Tour Crew
David 'DeeBee'
Brian 'Gnasher'
Peter - I'll get to the bank this week I promise!
Hodgie - who couldn't be there (maybe it worked out OK)
Vinny
Ian 'Skinny Shrimp'
Martin
David 'Freez' Freear - thanks for taking it there and getting it into the ground
Mark S - thanks for the podcast
Curly
Mick 'Morecambe Mick'
Seagie
Steve ' Blackburn Shrimp'
Dave 'Yozzer' Hughes
Stuart 'Red Knight'
John L
Carlisle Paul - thanks for the donation on the day
USA Shrimp and his son Sam - who made the journey from Philadelphia and arrived 25 mins late
and me

I had a few other promises that weren't forthcoming. If you think you made a donation and are not on the list above then please let me know or want to do so retrospectively then you can too. Just PM me.

Finally a big thanks to everyone for holding it up. Possibly should have had it the back of the stand but that's me being fussy. Thanks to Burton Albion players for taking it too literally. No thanks to the BBC for not showing it on extended highlights. Thanks to the Burton young lads who very kindly rolled it up and saved us bags of time.

As for the banner. Well its currently in Mark S's car but will shortly go into storage at Tradesignz and will re-appear for a similar ocassion or when we can re-organise the letters.

Finally, I've taken care of the VAT side of things, which has left the grand sum of £20 over. There are two suggestions for it.

1. Put into a banner pot (we may have a little bit over from another time too)
2. Give it to charity

Personally I prefer the former.

Thanks again!!!!

Mike
