Indies - travel to Burton - be a part of their history

Postby sgt major » Wed Aug 12, 2009 12:41 pm

The Indies (York Hotel) Travel club are running a coach to Burton on Saturday leaving the York at 9.45am.

Breakfasts are available from 8.45am

Cost is £12.

Come on let's create that great away atmosphere we had at Preston.

Pop into the York to book.

Trouble is now Dave is that people wont generally book up for anything in advance - I can see an avalanche of people trying to get on last thing Friday when we may have to cancel the coach :(

Steady on Mick, those of us that are already booked may be thinking we will have to make alternative arrangements

that may be so, but you wont catch me going to Barnet.

However I will demand my admission fee back if they don't have faggots and peas available when we get there

It will be okay mate - just cannot understand the supporters who are reluctant to support the team on the road.

It's wrong to say people are reluctant to support the team on the road, it's right to say there's lots of reasons why they can't.

Take your trip tomorrow as an example. Most people can find 2 or 3 hours on a saturday afternoon to get down to CP but how many can find at least 10 hours for a coach trip?

People have other commitments, family and work. They might have to be back early evening, they might be working saturday morning. It might be their day to look after the kids. I was even on one mini bus when a local landlord dipped out at the last minute because someone phoned in sick and they had to cover their shift. So you see, lots of reasons they can't support the team on the road.

Twas a good do. After the game when we had calmed down a little (well most of us  ) while watching Everton getting ripped apart the chant "Are you Morecambe in Disguise" was alarmingly funny! :(
