I thought we played some good stuff tonight and we wont face teams with that much movement every week. No shame at all tonight, we kept it down and didn't just go for long balls.

Roll on next saturday. :D

First 30 minutes we were the better team IMO - Played the ball along the floor, some nice one twos, I actually thought we could come out winners. Then the penalty, easy for the keeper once he was going the right way.

1700 or so Morecambe fans which I thought was a great turnout, anyone have an official away attendance?

We gave a very good account of ourselves, but as the match went on the gulf between the two sides was increasingly evident. Preston did well to take the goals that they did, but we should have scored a couple more, plus the penalty.

Was impressed with Haining's performance at the back, our MOTM for me.

Unfortunately Twissy strayed into midfield and onto the wings too much, this is particularly bad when he's the only fit striker in the squad at the moment! Took his goal well though, if he stays up top and uses his strength well as he did, he should be able to get a couple more at Burton.

Matty Poole's cameo appearance never did him any harm, could have done a bit better with the goalscoring opportunity but even so it's good to see some more youth team players progressing.

credit to preston thought they played very well, morecambe started bright but could not keep to prestons pace and flare.

Poor performances from:-

twiss 5/10
adams 6/10

Good performance from:-

Duffy 9/10

Overall thought we deserved the last min goal, i would give our performance a 7/10 against a great team.

I think it would have been a different game had we scored that pen

Twiss played quite well i think you'll find, he was constenly fouled by number 14 chilvers everytime he got the ball played to him chilvers would just shove him in the back. He took his goal extremly well.and if Chilvers hadn't been fouling him everytime the ball was hoofed twissys way he would have got alot more of the ball and done better.

Fair play to a much better Preston side tonight.. who knows what would've happened had we scored the penalty or a couple of our chances in the first 30 minutes.

I thought Wilson had an excellent game, and was Morecambe's MOTM for me. Never gave up, and ran his socks off.

I enjoyed the match last night and it could have been so completely different if Duffy had put the penalty away. Just a shame so many people missed Twiss's goal, especially those that left early - some wandered off with 14 mins left on the clock.

we played some good stuff but got outplayed by a better side which you would expect, looked a bit lost when we got into the last 1/3rd of the pitch with a lack of a cutting edge.Kept throwing long balls up to twissy who is not a target man.
our defence was constantly getting turned whereas we did not get behind their defence very much
an unrealistic score but they were the better team

Don't know about it being on video but you can see a photo of Duffy taking the penalty on the official site.

Twiss always used to take our penalties and was awesome at them, he then missed a few and then stopped taking them. I'd like to see him taking them again ;)

Again, we made all the atmosphere and the Preston fans were rubbish and only started singing when they were 3-0 up  .

I had to drive to Cardiff after the match, so slipped away just before Preston's 5th.

Sorry

IMO, we were forced to play through the middle because there was no one to get onto the crosses. Twiss, skilled as he is, cannot win headers.

Yeh , Stanley's only about a foot taller with dark hair and Duffy doesn't resemble the F.A Cup in any way . :o . Or was it something to do with the amount of liquid refreshment Mark . :?:
