O/T a BRUSH WITH CELEBRITY!!!

O/T a BRUSH WITH CELEBRITY!!!

Postby mrpotatohead » Mon Aug 10, 2009 10:26 am

One day last summer i fancied a day at the wacky warehouse, dad ran me to morrisons car park, there was a vintage car show on, i thought great, i will have a look round it before hitting the WW, whilst admiring an old morris traveller i spotted a familiar face, the chap in question noticed me looking at him and said, you know who i am , don t you?

I was really embarassed as i did not remember his name, but i said course i do!!

That night whilst watching corrie, it dawned on me that the man i had seen was the actor that plays bill webster in corrie

Do any others SVS have similar brushes with celebrity to match my story :?: :?:

I wasn't dreaming.

Technically I touched my willy then shook hands with her... but that's near enough the same thing right?

I met comedian Alexander Armstrong last week inside the Wookey Hole Bigtop Cafe in Somerset. I managed to scribble out on a piece of paper 'Alexander Armstrong is Simply Ned', which I planned to hold in front of him just as we were to get our picture taken together but sadly he had to go so no picture. I was frankly gutted but he isn't that funny anyway, he's awfully posh and probably wouldn't have seen the joke.

My celebrity resume includes:

Getting punched by Daniel Ortega the President of Nicaragua
Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie walking into my bedroom at 6am in the morning and waking me up
Being cursed at by Ned Beattie because I said, 'you were in Smokey & The Bandit?'
Snogging Rolf Harris's daughter Bindi

P.S. Did I mention Kenneth Brannagh?

The only ones that come to mind were most of the wrestlers from late seventies when my
uncle was the M.C. on the pier, they always looked very scary on World Of Sport, but when they bought you a packet of crisps, they seemed to loose their "edge",
Thanks Giant Haystacks!!! :x :(

Talking to my wifes son in Thailand, he works at a 5 star hotel/Bungalow complex on one of the islands,
last year Bruce Willis was there, he had a stack of 1000 Bht notes (= £20) and tipped
everyone all the time, so the staff were really glad he stayed there.
Apparently they'd never seen someone come with so much luggage.
He had 80 decorative scented oil lamps in his Bungalow and they had to employ a guy just to
refill them everyday

Flew back from Madrid the other night and was convinced I was sat opposite the former Middlesbrough player Mendieta but I didn't dare ask if it was him as my Spanish is crap.

When I was a student I worked in WH Smiths in Richmond, London, and served quite a lot of people including Midge Ure (I was taller than him), Twiggy, Anna Ford and a couple of actors who I can't remember.

The highlight though was selling a Fawlty Towers video to the American guy who wanted to see himself in the Caesar Salad scene. He was a cool guy.

I`ve met and chatted with Billy Bragg, Midge Ure, Tony Benn, Paul Jones (The Mannfreds + The Blues Band) The last remaining Beat Poet; Ron Whitehead, Radio 4 Presenter Stewart Henderson (got a photo of him eating a pie in the North Stand!), Peggy Seeger and Janis Ian. - oh, and several times had chats with each member of Runrig (Scottish rock band).
Said hi to Suzanne Vega, Eric Bibb, David Cameron, Arlo Guthrie (son of Woody), Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford (but at different times), Ari Vatanen, and loads more folk, traditional, celtic and americana musicians which most won`t have heard of!!
and my claim to fame?....

Tony Benn was a really nice guy when I met him at the Gala once. Wouldn't give David Cameron the time of day though.
