thirty seconds for each substitution would have been 1.5 minutes or 2 minutes (not sure if they add one minute when two come on together?)

But anyway, they equalised in normal time I think.

So how did that work out then?

That is just about spot on.

I was suprised at the lack of time added at the end of first half, but wasnt bothered at that point, but I think that 3 mins was possibly a minute short at the most.

In answer to the original question, the Ref keeps time and signals to 4th official how many minutes added.

The BBC did have half time coming at 43:34 though.

Half time came at dead on 46 minutes.

The board always goes up dead on 45 minutes (to the second usually) and the Ref is usually spot on to the second with the added time played (i.e 3 mins is 3 mins)
