Welcome aboard, Simon! So, I realise that it may not be possible to be told why, but can it be assumed that Edgey HAS left the club for whatever reason?

Thanks Edgie and good luck.

Welcome Simon. A very good pedigree if he's been working at Kikby with the likes of Stevie Highway and Hughie McAuley. They've had a lot of changes in the summer so it's probably a great opportunity for Simon to make a fresh start with us. Maybe a good contact for us if LFC have any loanees available later in the season.

I suppose it's too much to hope that he also bears an uncanny resemblance to a famous TV character of some kind???

I am sure there was a chap that used to live round these parts that got the job as Physio at Liverpool prob about ten years ago I am wondering if it is the same guy the dates would match up.

I vaguley remember his wife working where I did my work experience and think she was leaving as they had to move closer to Liverpool.

The guy you are thinking of is Gary Armer. He ran the sponge for Mitchells and The Traveller in the old Sunday League to gain experience. He then got his qualifications and worked at Burnley before being "headhunted" by Liverpool. He worked there for 3 or 4 seasons before taking up the assistant physios post at Old Trafford. It's still amusing to see him on the bench behind Sir Alex and remember him giving first aid to a load of drunken reprebates on pitches like King Georges and Willow Lane.
