I think people need to calm down.
One result in a friendly means nothing, and if anything, merely shows the aptitude (and attitude) of very well paid, pampered Premier League players. (I know they were relegated) These players don't have the stomach for a fight (apart from Barton) so when things are not going their way, they're more likely to capitulate than perhaps a lower league team would.
That said, I think it's also been a hell of a wake up call for them, and this could just be a turning point for them. It's the kind of scenario that creates one of these "Siege mentality" kind of situations. You know, everyones against us, wanting us to fail miserably kind of thing.
It's a critical time for the toon. If they grasp the siege mentality situation, they might do ok. On the other hand, if their players just want out like rats deserting a sinking ship, it could just be a very long, hard season for the toon fans.
