The facts are there for all to see in the visitor, should our fans urge our team to ban the person for life, I personally say yes, and would ask for other MFC fans to give a straight answer without being personal, so the thread can stay open, and people on the board that have the ear of anyone at the club can explain why or, why not the convicted person should have a life ban, this can be the start of a petition if you want!!

You are clearly upset by this incident, and Mark S (who closed the original thread) wants to make sure that the site doesn't come into disrepute either, and you should have respect for that.

The bottom line is that this case having been aired in a public court is no longer sub judice and therefore you should be able to name and shame the convicted racist anytime you like once the court circullar has been produced.

The name of the victim is, and should be protected and I'm sure the poor chap had enough grief on the day from this bafoon without his name or details being mentioned on here. I just hope and pray that he and his parents dont think that the kind of uneducated racist bile that they were greeted with was what our football club is about.

I have not seen the court circular and therfore will not mention the convicted racist by name.

All I know, in my own opinion, is that he is a sociopath of the highest order, that he can handle himself and that he is intellectualy challenged. personally I wouldn't have this thug allowed at a local bus stop let alone a football match. he is the lowest of the low and a despicable individual, and I've been on away trips with this person. personally I believe that a life ban would be about a thousand years too short. but its upto the legal chaps at the club. if they really want to make a stand, ts up to them. if they do make a stand against this kind of white supremestist, thick, smelly bast*** then I would support them wholeheartedly

But says it all when the fan in question was reputed to have said after the ban
" Who cares, I'm going to watch Hamburg next season ".

Also brings into question police vetting.. where this person works requires this. Very worrying.

Let's be very clear. This is an emotive subject. All right thinking people hate racism. This guy deserves everything that is being thrown at him. However, to protect the future of the board, any naming of any individual will see this thread disappear.

Please don't take this as an attempt to defend the person subject of this court case.

But DO be very careful what you say.

The very specific legal dangers are not in naming the individual - he has already been publicly named and identified.

The dangers lie primarily in a couple of areas.

One is giving out any information that might lead, even indirectly (or by what they call 'jigsaw' identification, which means one person giving out one little bit of info, another giving out another and someone being able to put them together) to identifying the child victim.

This board could be in serious trouble if that occurred.

The other is - you may find it difficult to comprehend - defaming the convicted person. Yes he has been tried and convicted of that particular offence but if you imply that he has been involved in other incidents or activities not covered by this case you (or this board) may again find itself in legal difficulties with the very real possibility of libel action.

There may be defences to such actions but that could involve someone - and you're all fairly easily traceable - actually having to go through the process of seeking legal assistance to make those defences which, at the very least, would be time consuming and worrying for the individual or the owners of this board.

Most people will not be aware of the laws surrounding libel and defamation (even slander if you're talking about it in a pub).

I am - it's part of my job.

Please take my advice and be very careful.

You can comment about this individual case, which has been tried and concluded in a court of law (as long as there's nothing that might lead to the identification of the minor - and as long as nothing that WASN'T included in the court case is introduced).

But if you stray beyond that, then you (and it may be YOU personally, it may be this board) are in tricky waters.

And just to make you aware, even if you have an alias and have used a disposable e mail address to register you can still be traced through your IP address which leaves a digital fingerprint everytime you post. Not a threat, just to make you aware.

as long as the forum owner or moderators make reasonable endeavours to remove any problem messages then they are very unlikely to be in trouble. What i have seen so far, they have gone far beyond that which means any legal issues will be with whoever posted the message.

One final thing, don't think the mods removing your message means the end of any problems for you, it could just be the start.

Racially abusing a child is pretty damn low. This guy has got what he deserves. Well done to the Police/club for taking appropriate action

You see very few foreign/eithnic looking faces in the ground which doesn't represent the population of the area. A team of purely white-Brit players doesn't help.

I only hope the boy and his family are still coming to games.

Yes you would.The club work very hard to keep a very good reputation.Any behavier from anyone like this at the ground would face a ban and rightly so.I agree with what everyone has said but the main thing is the protection of the victims identity.

Why not just close the thread then instead of taking the chance of anyone saying something they shouldn't, seems pretty simple to me.

I've just looked. It is still in the dictionary. The problem seems to come from people who want to say things that the civilised majority of us now find unacceptable.

You don't see many foreign people I agree, but last season a group of what looked like Asians
stood in front of us in the N stand on quite a few occasions and looked to be really "in to it". And also, a couple of poles could be seen near by . Probably the South Lakes charm that radiated from where we stand. that made their decision where to watch the game from.

Any form of insult to a persons ethnicity, religeous beliefs, sexual preferences is basically racist. (Sorry if I've missed any group out). So Dawzi the answer to your question is.
