PLEASE SAY IT ISN’T TRUE

PLEASE SAY IT ISN’T TRUE

Postby Ned » Tue Jul 21, 2009 11:03 am

The latest rumour doing the rounds in East Lancs is that the Shrimps manager is now being offered a new incentive bonus to ensure the team is still in the football league when we move to the new stadium.

Apparently the powers that be are concerned at what they have seen and with the continuing difficulties in attracting new players for key positions.
IF this rumour is true then I think it is outrageous as surely the manager already has a decent contract and has stated several times that his key objective is to ensure the team is in the football league when the new stadium opens. Any new incentive would be seen as desperation and rewarding something that is not working.

Alternatively perhaps it is just mischief making by our friends from East Lancs having noticed our current poor form.

What if it is true? Do we care? How the board spend their money is entirely up to them.

Excellent. Ned's reduced to inventing(?) rumours with a source over 30 miles away.

What next? You've heard from someone in 'the West Country' that Mark Lillis is in the pay of the devil.

P.S. Have you ever replied to a thread you didn't start?

Working in East Lancashire (Nelson to be precise) I reckon that I'm as close to the local rumour scene on a daily basis as anybody on SVs.

I can confidently say that I've heard no such rumour, gossip or anything that would suggest that such an incentive has / is or will be put in place. My work colleagues past and present and local business connections know of my MFC connection and they'd take great delight in being the first to tell me of such an arrangement

For me this is just another example of sensationalism on the part of SN.

To SN.....'get a life'

Of course there's a simple way to prove or otherwise, provide details of the rumour either on SVs or by PM to myself if you prefer.

Hey Ned, it's 5 pm and guess what.......I'm still waiting ;) ;) ;)

Which is pre season friendlies and which includes 4 or 5 triallists and numerous substitutions.

Do you have any of these?

The East Lancs comment is a distraction to stop us working out where he's really getting his info from, or rather trying to stop the directors working it out.

Are you suggesting that Ned is actually on the inside?

No but he has previously claimed to have got some of his information from directors or staff.

Rumour has it from an East Lancs source:

2 men are reading a footballing forum apprently belonging to the supporters of Morecambe Football Club. The men are reported to be laughing extremely loud between themselves after reading a thread about a ridiculous rumour they started. The Victim ( a user with the name of Simply Ned) whose real name will not be revealed due to personal embarrassment is said to the be the spreader of this rumour, adament that it is fact.
The East Lancs men are currently being questioned and disciplined by local police and are warned in future 'not to tell anymore porkies'.
Local police commented on the situation, 'Some people believe people when they tell them what they want to hear, and unfortunately in this case the victim has made a complete fool of himself'.

I'd settle for him being on our side...

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?
