Still one nil.
Huddersfield a strong side. I think we have had just two chances so far.
Most of match being played in our half
they are just about to take what will be their 8th corner.
Update:
Clearance Header off the line by Danny A !

not many positives from this game unlike the Burnley game apart from Hudson who looks worth a contract, and another new Trialist Sean Doherty a left winger id like another look at, very similar in the Duffy mould small but quick he came on in the 2nd half playing on the right-wing, but id like a look at him on the left-wing his preferred position
S Doherty -->

cheers Marky
oh and i think L Wilson looks a better fullback than a left-winger/midfielder after todays run-out

we really need to tighten up especially at the back after today's performance, we let them through far more times than was merited. Duffy looked very good though and looks to have improved his defensive play - could he be better in the rwb role than he showed last season? We need to have numbers in the middle of the park and thats why 532/352 works so well for us. Kendal and plymouth are the last friendlies i can see before i go on my jollies so i hope i can get a good all round performance before hereford.

yeah your right, still not good enough to play 4 4 2, it's got to be the trusted 532/352 again this season if we are to maintain our league status

Doesnt really matter what format you play you have to have the players that can do it, pretty poor today.

I've had stick previously for defending Rene Howe but I'd happily swap any three of the strikers we've had on show pre-season to have someone like him back.
He's the only one who could occupy TWO defenders all afternoon and, therefore, make opposition defences play ten yards further back. He'd give Duffy the space to play in and around the penalty box which is where we need to try to get him this season.
Chadwick hasn't shown me any more than I'd expect Twissy or Wayne to show and -as they are both still under contract - I can't see what we'd be gaining by giving him a contract. Larkin I'd like to have another look at but if he's not fit there's not much time.
Elsewhere on the pitch I think we'll be okay but the ball will just keep coming back to us unless we can get someone to give their defenders more to think about.

He might be up his own backside, but Shrimper's spot on about Howe. I'd have him back tomorrow if it would help us retain out league status. None of the strikers on show to date fill me with confidence and they must be a defenders dream to play against.

Lets hope Sammy isnt panicking as much as some on here today.
Wayne Rooney wouldnt have scored today with the service from the midfield. Lets be honest the line up will look a whole lot different come Aug 8th.
Rene Howe? Wouldnt pay him in chocolate coins!
I have said it before and will say it again. Trust in Sammy

I admire your optomism Mark and genuinely wish I shared your thinking but unfortunately on the evidence of Southport and 'uddersfield I can't get excited about what's been on show....to date!

Not a very nice thing to say out loud about one of your fellow supporters CC,
It was really dire today and quite worrying that so many "first choices" are sidelined at this point of this pre-season. Any news on Drummy, Gary H and Wayne, are they injured or away? What's happened with Larkin? I was really impressed with him on Tuesday.

I agree with CC we need to see a big improvment on what we saw today

Any news on Drummy, Gary H and Wayne
Wayne was with Jimbo before the game and Gary and Drummy were in the brew room at half time.
