This really is terrible news for any decent football supporter.
On a more serious note; Does anyone know where my bottle opener is?

I never understood Chesters Administration SV put them in admin and then told everyone including the FA I think, that the best solution would be for him to still run the club so he paid of the creditors at an agreed price probably not very much and carried on as normal meaning the debt had been wipped out.

If he has got away with it it is a brilliant way of wipping the dept out but it all seems a bit strange.

I thought an owner could only take 2 clubs into administration then it's permanently barred from owning a club? This is SV's 3rd time. The funniest comment at the pro-SV posters has to be

Ive said it before but if Vaughan shat in the middle of their dinner they would smile blindly and eat round it.

I have always been treated well bby CCFC staff, their supporters and player's family I have met over the years have been arrogant without exception.

Liverpool have also moved reserve fixtures to Tranmere from Chester City so that removes even more income.

However Eric Whalley has joined the board bringing with him some new stationary in the form of a big box of brown envelopes he nicked from Accy, allegedly.

That certainly applies in the Premier League

As one supporter says on Deva Chat, they've been through a lot.

"We've just been relegated from the football league, gone into and come out of administration, seen almost all our squad leave, become resigned to starting the new season on minus 10, overcome a ban from the PFA, faced down a guy who wanted to call us Harchester, faced players charged with betting and corruption, bought a cocaine user who subsequently failed a drugs test...".

If you have the right people at the top the rest will fall into place. Everything about Chester is the complete opposite to our club, even their ground is in Wales.....

Gnasher at least you answered your question on how SV can still run a club even though he has been in admin twice.

Someone on devachat has said that SV Snr resigned from the board just before they went into administration. Either the FA don't believe that or the fact that SV Snr is doing all the talking and SV Jnr hasn't said a word is making them think about who is actually in control. The daily guess the excuse threads are worth reading

Despite what people may think of Chester fans, you have to hand it to them.
The good old British (well, they are in Wales) ability to overcome adversity with humour is very much alive and well on that message board.

I'd hate to look at this board if we were, God forbid, in their position.

You can easily imagine some members "I told you so" can't you?

Chester's CVA was rejected by the High Court today following an appeal by HM Revenue and Customs. With only two weeks to sort out a solution its looking as if Chester City really does look like closing.

I have just read some of the posts on there message board, how on earth has Steven Vaughn been allowed to get away with all the stuff he's been doing at that club for so long ???????

Could the news about Eric Whalley being prepared to invest in the club be a prelude to an eventual take over by EW?

It wouldn't suprise me if that was the ultimate outcome.

He probably realised that Accy couldn't develop any more under his stewardship, so Chester being in the position it is, probably looks like a good place in which to start over again.

What's the betting that if he does, that sooner or later JC makes the move to the Deva as well?

Have I got this right has the CVA which Vaughan thought he had got away with has been rejected and does mean all the debt that was outstanding before the CVA is still there? or is it just the tax money they now have an issue with and all the rest has been cleared.

The thing about EW is Chester fans think if he took over the club he would just be another front man for Vaughan.

....but don't forget that EW has sold all his shares now in Accy and therefore has the finacial capability to take over from SV and buy the guy out. A similar exercise as that undertaken at Darlo.

Thank goodness we've got a Board who operate in a more professional way.

What would the shares in Accy have been worth? The bus ticket home? Eric's not as financially well off as everyone thinks and I'm sure he was taken on at Chester to try and fool the FA yet again.

Chester are screwed. They have failed to agree the CVA within the deadlines and now face expulsion as far down as the first league that will have them. I heard last night from a Tranmere source that Vaughan tried to put the company in his wife's maiden name to fool the FA.
