Michael Howard was offered a contract at FGR by Jimmy Harvey but turned it down 'cause he would have to pay for his own petrol which could amount to £200 a week. Now on a Part Time deal with Llanelli in the Welsh League.

Riggo was offered a new contract at FGR on reduced money but refused and is understood to be on trial at Fleetwood joining fellow ex Shrimp, trialist striker David McNiven.

Suprising what a comma can do in the right place......

I'm not sure about that. I don't think regular commuting would count as tax rebateable, despite the distance.

If anyone knows better though I'm sure the many people who have long journeys to work would be very interested...

No it isn't.

Only if you are based at home and need to travel to your office on an infrequent basis can it be claimed against tax...I think...as home is classed as your place of work.

If it is your own car you can't claim your petrol for driving to home or to work, its not classed as business.

If it is a Company Car you can opt to pay tax on private mileage or pay for your own. This all used to be a simple calculation but like everything else this government seems to do they make it complicated and charge you according to CO2's etc etc etc In other words a Company Car is now more of a burden than a perk

Agreed. I have just changed jobs and could not wait to hand back my Company Car. Costing a fortune in Tax. Bought my own car now and claim an allowance and mileage.

Beat ya to it Mark, I did it 7 years ago :!: they still moved the goalposts after that as at first I claimed 60p a mile for my "gas guzzler" but it has now been reduced to 40p, the same price as my "non gas guzzler"

If I go on a 200 mile business trip one car needs 8.5 gallons of fuel, the other one 4 gallons of fuel so i'm £20 (tax free) better off going in the Smart Car :?

If I went in the Bentley I would need 13 gallons and only be £14 in pocket, less the £7000 depreciation

Anyway back to the football 8-)

So much for being Mr Accrington Stanley.

Am really surprised that he's now in the same sewer as SV.

Shwan seems to be enjoying himself

http://www.afcb.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0 ... 43,00.html

Jury is still out on Carl Baker. Hope the lad can stay fit

From the Stockport message board:
"I expect him once fully fit to be a big part of our season & hopefully show the ability that ripped us to pieces when he was at Morecambe"

He's done really well since he went to Barrow and scored regular.

Maybe another striker who failed with us because of the system we play.
