Coverage - GB? Europe? USA?
Do you want to be able to make phone calls through it?
Do you want it to read out street names e.g. "Turn left in 300 yards onto Lancaster Road" or "Turn left in 30 yards"?
Do you need to keep it up-to-date as roads are changed and new roads added?
Do you want to add your own Points Of Interest? For example, I have all the main football grounds in the UK as Points of Interest so yesterday I told it to go to Southport FC.
Do you want voice recognition so you can tell it your destination?
Do you want it to automatically re-route you if there is traffic en-route?

Can you get one that'll get you out of the mire after sending you down a lane that eventually dwindles into practically nothing?
You get stuck, you can't reverse, and your Sat Nav goes quiet.
