...great song, but can't listen to it without seeing it as some sort of footy chant/anthem.

New material needed for the North Stand. Thoughts anyone ?

You're right, and while we're on the subject of the North Stand, last night against Burnley was an absolute embarassment. Some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and the meaning of the word "friendly". Constant berating of the Burnley players e.g "Dingle b******s" and "Inbred c***s" made it very cringeworthy to be in that stand yesterday. What have Burnley ever done to Morecambe to deserve that? :? I was just pleased that the minority weren't loud enough to be heard by the opposing supporters because they were likely to have thought "what a bunch of knobheads" as well. The chant of "chim chimeny chim chim cheroo, we hate those b******s in claret and blue" was another strange moment from these clearly retarded individuals. It got to the point when I couldn't take much more and told them to shut the f**k up, so they just went to the bottom and did it instead . The random needless immature behaviour continued - "I'm forever blowing bubbles" for example  WTF

It was at this point I shook my head in disbelief, rather than in disgrace, that fellow Morecambe supporters could be so damn stupid. A mate turned to me and said "just think, we used to be like that." So I did think about it, for a good 3 seconds, and realised that despite on some occasions when we would enjoy goading opposition for the fun of it, despite singing random songs (eg. the theme tune to This Morning, The Bill, Emmerdale etc.), we surely never came across as so outrageously dim.

Get out of my sight.

I was thinking the same when I heard it.

Another, which would just be sheer noise and little singing, is The Cramps - Most Exalted Potentate of Love. The intro, the build up and then the heavy guitar done by a crowd basically going dun-dun-dun-dun-de-dun-dun etc. could, if orchestrated correctly be quite beautiful.

P.S. Just found that lead singer Lux Interior died a couple of months ago. He built a great band.

It makes me cringe when people start singing other teams songs at a Morecambe FC game, 'im forever blowing bubbles' seriously. I did notice alot of Preston fans at yesturdays game though, who I have never seen at Morecambe game before -

On the topic of chants, we need a few new ones, as some are becoming really repetitive ... e.g 'Barry, barry Roche' EVERY time he touches the ball

Totally under-rated. It wasn't just about the music though but a husband and wife combo (Lux Interior and Poison Ivy) who could create a band in the early 70's that could pick up rockabilly and turn into punk and new wave in a style all of their own. Fans of The Cramps loved the band because they were lovely people. Great regret I never saw them but have a good collection of vinyl and will always remember them being on The Tube when I was a mere child. Why can't they bring back mad rock programmes with occasional swearing at 5pm on a Friday?

Yeah, I remember hearing they met on a highway, driver and hitchhiker.
Great live, you missed a good show. 8-)
Think I've got pretty much everything they released (bar an odd single)
Some worth over £50-£100 now. :o
You've got me looking at old albums now for making mad chants.
