Opinions after tonight??? Personally although Larkin scored, i thought he was pretty average. Prefered Chadwick but really liked Hudson. Creative and looks to pass forward which was nice to see as we our usually very sideways through midfield.

I thought both strikers looked decent enough against a strong Burnley side, both could be good at our level. Thought Larkin looked quite skillfull and took his chance really well IMO.

I was impressed by Larkin. When we won our first corner, he was the one at the near post who made that great flick on. He also showed some skill and nice touches throughout and the goal was really well taken. Not spectacular but I think he could be a great player against league 2 defences.

I thought Chadwick had the better all round game but Larkin's finish was well taken. I see Plymouth paid 250k for Chadwick and he scored a few but then hasn't done much else.
It's hard to tell from tonight as you can't expect much from them against a Prem deffence. Hopefully they will both get a run out against other oposition.
Don't really understand why we are looking at a centre back when we have plenty.

Need to see more of Chadwick before making an opinion - not impressed tonight but he was against really good lads and didn't get much chance to show he's any better than Wayne or Twissy.
Larkin, for me, looked sharper, more eager and took his goal really well, worth another look.
I've always liked Hudson and as long as it doesn't prevent us bringing in a really decent striker (if we get the chance of one) I'd like to give him a go.
Wilson looked as promising as I thought he'd be, Moss got better as the game went on after a shaky start against Eagles. Woods looked solid but no better than we've got.
Really pleased with Stanners who has clearly been working on his upper body strength and looked very eager to impress.
But the biggest plus on the night, for me, was Duffy who got better and better and started to dictate play a lot towards the end.
A Clarets fan on the way out (who had no idea who he was) picked him out and said he looked as though he was trying to put himself in the shop window for Burnley!

Seen Chadwick a few times recently and he's never done much. He has the experience, he has the quality but he never manages to provide the finishing goods. For a striker not a good goal per game ratio either but saying that Larkin's isn't much better either.
Chadwick
Total career appearances (excluding reserve games) 136
Total goals 22
Larkin
Appearances 270
Goals 47
Michael Twiss
Appearances 303
Goals 81
Wayne Curtis
Appearances 380
Goals 156
However bare in mind most of Wayne + Twissy's were at a lower standard and Larkin scored 25 in 92 back in 2002-05 for Mansfield but only 3 in 54 for Northampton 2007/09. Not an easy decision for Sammy to make and i'm just not sure about these two???

Thing is they have to be significantly better than Twissy, Wayne and Aaron to be worth adding them to the squad budget. Of the two I'd like to see more of Larkin. For me Chadwick didn't do any more than I'd have expected Wayne to do (though, as I say, against a side of Burnley's quality it's a bit harsh to judge).

Because the ones we have are getting old and too slow

I thought they all looked ok against a very good fit fooballing side, but if Artel is going to be one of the centre backs i think we could struggle

Me too, I think Drummy would be ideal in that position and play Duffy in Midfield

We have a striker on the books with a 50% strike rate. Four goals in eight appearances. He's been quite prolific for the reserves too.

McStay
Parrsih
and not to mention we now have more cover with full-backs
Moss
Wilson
and if last seasons transfer imbargo is anything to go by, where best keeping a small squad.......

Nick Chadwick works hard enough but he is gradually slipping down the divisions for a reason.
He can hold the ball up quite well at times whilst at other times his first touch is awful with the ball bouncing off him in all directions. His finishing is general shocking, some of the sitters he missed for us last season had to be seen to be believed, e.g. open goal chances from well inside the six yard box not converted. If you give the fella about ten decent chances you might get one goal.
If you were to pair him with a prolific goalscorer it might work quite well as a partnership but if you're looking for goals you'd be well advised to look elsewhere!

I would expect Sammy to sign Hudson based on the fact that at Rotherham he sounds as though he was their main source of midfield goals.
Their fans seem split about him, but on the evidence of last night he's got something in his locker that suggests there may be a bit of sour grapes from t'other side of t'hill.
Was offered a new contract but turned it down.
For me, too good to miss out on, especially with the prospect of him playing alongside Stanners and Drummy...some midfield that!
Also the young lad signed from Oldham....he's going to be some player in a year or two....watch him! Although only given a brief chance to shine last night he did enough to impress a few that we've got another good youngster.

I thought Hudson was the best of the trialists last night. Maybe Sammy took him off at halftime because he had seen enough to convince him.
He also scores goals as well as makes them from looking at his record and neither McLatchlan or Hunter are prolific scorers.
A midfield with Drummond , Stanley and Hudson has a good look about it.
A tough game to assess strikers against an excellent Burnley defence. More can be judged against Huddersfield.

think we should sign Hudson need to see another couple of games before we can judge the other two
