lots of new players, first game of the season against a strong burnley team 3-1 isn't that bad.

not too bad a performance, played some nice football at times but burnley overpowered us when they wanted. Eagles is going to be one to watch on match of the day. Mark hudson our number 7 looked decent, no need to sign another midfielder though. Nick chadwick could be good against a league 2 defence, jury's still out on him for me. Larkin took his goal well but showed precious little more throughout the game, kept getting dragged out into right wing, which we for some reason had no player for. Wilson looked very good, moss could be a solid player when he gels with the rest of the team. Woods looked an ok defender but we've adequate cover there imo. Winters showed he could be good cover and has some potential. Roll on southport on thursday

went to watch Burnley at Stamford bridge when they played Chelsea and eagles on that day was fantastic, i think he could be a key player for the clarets next season

Think he'll be found out at Premier League level, to be honest. I think Paterson, Fletcher, Elliott, Carlyle, Mears and Jensen can do a job but they still need another two or three to have a chance of survival IMO. Hope they do it, always had a soft spot for Burnley.

Looked well up for it. Full of running and looks to have beefed up, upper body-wise.

I think he's like Darren Huckerby - too good for the Championship, but not up to Premier League standard.

Just seen the goals on sky sports news and i thought Artell was caught out of position for the first 2 goals and Fraz made a bollocks of the third but Larkins goal was very well executed, flicking the ball over the defender then a very good finish. To say it was our first game we did ok but we need a lot more width, hopefully this will come when Wainwright is fit, looking forward to the Huddersfield match.

unlucky with the first goal it would have gone wide if it had not hit LW

3-1 is actually quite a good result since they put out a very strong team and we had a look at some new players.

Did we lose? There's little point in remembering the result in these pre-season friendlies, what matters is the performance which often isn't reflected in the result.

I really enjoyed last night's game; the lads put in a lot of effort against a far stronger side, there was some good football and our goal was well deserved (and well played). Considering as well that there was a 'hot-off-the-press' signing, trialists, and new team members playing, they did brilliantly. A positive start with a hard game.
