I don't think it'll be the last either. We need to take time to appreciate each other.
God rest those who died, and help those they left behind.

If anyone watched the recent documentary on the Mumbai terrorist atrocity they will realise that further atacks are almost inevitable. The young impressionable terrorists carrying out the murders were in constant contact with the 'masterminds' back in Pakistan. The programme contained a lot of mobile phone conversations between the killers and those directing them from afar (intercepted by the Indian security forces). The detached way the killers were ordered by phone to shoot several hostages through the back of the head and to carry out other atrocities was truly chilling.

Although the terrorists on the ground were either killed or captured the planners are still at large, no doubt planning their next spectacular of carnage and destruction.

The current security forces efforts to contain the Taleban in Northern Pakistan and Afghanistan are no doubt being carried out partly in an effort to restrict future attacks but the sad truth is that the next atrocity is probably just around the corner.

This thread will end up with some idiots knowing what the root of the world's problems are, then some other idiots will disagree with them. ;)

I hadn't realised the date until I turned on the news this morning and wasn't sure whether to look forward to the tube ride to the office or not, took a taxi in the end and walked back to the hotel tonight. 4 years ago this morning my daughter was heading to London for a tour of Parliament. When someone in the office told me what had happened, I had no idea whether she was in the middle of it or not and it was another 4 hours before I spoke to her.
