A lot of other forums have a rule whereby you can't open a new topic until you've made 50 posts. Or whatever number the mods see fit. Unless they get special dispensation, e.g. Morecambe FC. . I suppose it depends on how busy the board is. Maybe 50 is a bit much for here, maybe 25 might do it, then again 50 could well be a good deterrent.
I think the mods on here should start considering this, if the board software allows it. Pretty soon we'll have every tom dick and harry joining up and giving it large for upcoming fixtures and any other dross that springs to mind and thereby creating a boring load of rhetoric which does no one any good whatsoever.
What do you reckon?

i dont really agree with this to be honest, im sure you didnt have to wait in order to post a new topic did you? so why should it be different for anyone else :S
this would discourage potential members from joining the site and could even decrease the number of posters on the site.
bit naff if you ask me. pffft

I reckon it's a good idea. Would have prevented the cretin that is Jason Anderton making his moronic gob go.

Don't like it. I'd rather put up woth the occasional loon than put anyone off posting new threads on here who is new to the board. We often get fans of other clubs coming on for some really good natured banter but they may be put off if they have to go through some vetting first. Often it's just a spontaneous thing and, if they have obstacles, they won't bother.
I see why you're suggesting it, not a silly idea at all, I just think, on balance......

There's always the Friend & Foe feature which should help if you don't want to see someone's messages.
