Was Danny C in line to sign for us until Dundee United stepped in?

Released by Huddersfield at the end of the season Danny might have been the striker that renaged on the deal with us and signed for the SPL team.

The Irish guy was Curtis Allen who has signed for Linfield.

The one I'm on about renaged on the deal in late May early June and signed for Dundee (Utd ?) hence my question about DC.
