According to the Vis, terms have been agreed with 2 new players and subject to the fine paperwork details and medicals they should be signing for us early next week - one a good prospect as a striker and another a right-back with experience including at a higher level.

I wish I could get the Visitor here in Preston, the website hasn't been updated yet
(Shrimper?).
Quite excited about this young striker. Perhaps 2 experienced strikers as well as Taylor and new guy, sounds good to me.

a week is along time in football I hope noone comes and nicks them from under our nose.
I am guessing then the striker is a young non league player if we don't have a to pay a fee could be a good move if we get a more experienced striker in as well.

.
You can - arrange with a local newsagent to get a copy and he can make sure he gets a supply, any problems contact me. Otherwise you can have it sent on subscription each week, details are on our website.
And, yes, it was me who told our main web uploader not to put it on just yet. We try to keep a good website going but we ARE still in the business of selling newspapers.
Don't worry, it'll be on there soon.

Too right......
Whoever this striker is it sounds as though he may be a youngster who hasn't been guaranteed a place in his club every game. If he's from non-league then maybe he could do what other non-leaguers have done and use a league 2 club as a stepping stone to bigger nad better things.
Let's hope that we have better luck with this potential signng than others....

Sounds like other teams are intrested is there no chance we can rush them through any sooner or get them on a pre contract like other clubs are? The longer we leave it the more chance we have of losing out

why do we need to rush pre season training does not start untill next week
Because we have a habit of missing out on players who get better offers while were sorting the paperwork.

Sammy's signings have on the whole been good. Don't forget we are not competing with the likes of Altrincham , Northwich Victoria , Barrow etc for new players. We are competing with Rochdale , Bury , Crewe Alexandra , etc etc
I have full confidence he will pull out some really good signings for us.

Some would dispute that...but the same could be said of other managers long gone.

true, but I did say on the whole. The odd turkey has slipped through.
good signings IMHO include the following :
Barry Roche
Dave Artell
Craig Stanley
Stewart Drummond
Rene Howe
Dermaid O'Carroll
Matt Blinkhorn (Conference spell)
Neil Wainwright
Danny Adams
Henry McStay
Adam Yates
Joe Lewis
Fraser McClachlan
Turkeys again IMHO as follows:-
Danny Meadowcroft
Damian Allen (although he passed the ball better than either Hunter or McLachlan)
