Just getting a bit more info for a story we'll be running this week about Becky Kershaw, formerly of Heysham High and in with a great chance of making the GB team when I noticed this....
"GREAT Britain have been handed a tough draw as they bid to capture LEN Women's European Nations Trophy glory next month.
Team GB, who reached the final of the biennial event two years ago in Prague, have been in the same group as Slovakia, Belarus and Portugal for the tournament, to be held at the Manchester Aquatics Centre from July 7-12th.
Great Britain will head to Manchester with confidence low, having suffered six World League European preliminary defeats in six matches last month.
But with the advantage of home soil, and having defeated both Slovakia and Portugal two years ago, British Water Polo world class programme manager Joanna Wray believes GB have what it takes to prevail.
"The high level of competition coupled with the first-class facilities provided by the Manchester Aquatics .............etc"

...I think I may have discovered why they've not been doing so well!
