New Seasons Fixtures

This shows the sequence of events over a 3 week period that will bring us to wednesday. Interesting to see "first of all we look at the Club requests, eg if a club wants to be away on the first game and the 6th match then we can ensure that can be done"

I presume we have requested to play our last game of the season at home

Similar article on the BBC this morning:

It's difficult to understand how complex it all is.

Southend, though, are in Essex, as are Colchester, so they cannot play together on the same weekend. Colchester share stewards with Ipswich so those two clubs also request they do not play home games on the same weekend. Transport links dictate Ipswich and Norwich do not play together on the same weekend either. In other words, when West Ham play at home can have an impact on when a club as far away as Norwich (108.8 miles) play their home fixtures.

That article mentions one of our 400 mile + midweek trips:
The President of the Football Supporters Federation "Objected to Morecambe playing at Dagenham & Redbridge in midweek. They tried to alter the fixture but found out that it would negatively impact on so many other games that what he called "the least worst option" was to maintain the status quo" :o

So we have a rock Band to blame for all this! No doubt we won't be playing Accy on a Saturday and Bournemouth, Torquay or Aldershot will be on a Tuesday!

I could see how the Daggers game could effect other matches West Ham and a lot of clubs in that area etc but would love to know why Bournemouth was on a Tuesday night.
