Googling various last minute local destinations for a few days away and thought a few days in York wouldn't be too bad. Parking's a nightmare so I thought I'd check the prices of an inclusive rail deal.

Second class return to York from Lancaster, £52.00 each

First class return to York from Lancaster, £1,429.00 each :o :o :o

Try booking two separate tickets - one to Leeds and one from Leeds to York. I have done this in the past and it saved a decent amount.
