...well that's one down in a number of SVs targets.

We'll never know if he was on Sammy's wish list. If he was finance has possibly been one of the reasons why he and others(?) have declined to be part of Sammy's Army.

His loss....... ;) ;) ;)

It doesn't surprise me, Sammy never gets who he wants (not saying he wanted Lowe). Let's wait and see who we get, providing we actually sign some players.

Yeah last summer was frustrating for him. He seemed to think that few players wanted to travel NW. He wanted Charlie Mcdonald who rejected us... can only imagne what he could have done for us.

In other news Ryan Mccann has moved from one irish club to another today. Distillery to Crusaders or the other way round!!

Just going back to the Liam Hatch / Luton topic I know a few on here like a small flutter. Does anyone else have the same line of thought as myself that Luton Town look very very solid for the Blue Square Premier next season? At 7/2 best available price and one quarter the odds for finishing top 3 I can't see them being outside the top 3 so any each way wager should get you most of your money back and they must have an excellent chance of winning it outright giving you a handsome profit.

I base my case not just on Liam Hatch joining (which is a major positive in itself), there are other reasons. I was very impressed with them when they came to our place towards the end of the season. They also beat a strong Scunthorpe outfit at Wembley. They were doomed from the start with a 30 point deduction and without it would have been a comfortable mid table team. Once they came to terms with the points deficit they were a much stronger team in the second half of the season. I could go on but I think they are overpriced and the positives far outweigh the negatives.

The negatives are that they will have to buck the recent trend of league teams failing to bounce straight back into the league. They will also have the best home and away support. With a huge expectation on the teams shoulders this might play against them if things don't always go to plan.

Of the other contenders a Wilder led Oxford will be strong but Oxford are still in a lot of debt and this may just hold them back. Stevenage have lost star man Morrison (but always fall short anyway). Cambridge have just had another massive play off failure and have that to cope with. Don't really see many other threats. LUMP ON LUTON.

Please feel free to discuss. Anyone with any other thoughts/info on Luton etc'.

Liam Hatch will cost Luton £235,000 for his one season in the Conference

I presume after the initial Loan they then "own" him? It saves P'Boro paying his wages I suppose.

I will be sticking a fiver on him tho to be top scorer!

Already have mate!

Nothing is ever that clear cut in sports betting but they have got to be the bet of the season at anything better than 2/1.

They were comfortably a good, mid-table Div Two side last season without the deductions, have kept all the players they'd want to keep. Craddock will get a bagful in that division and they are adding quality all the time.

None of their rivals (unless Oxford or Cambridge invest heavily in the next few weeks and I don't think they have the wherewithal to do that) will pose any surprises and they should romp it.

They are far better than Burton were and Burton, in the end, managed it reasonably comfortably against the same sdes. Wrexham may cause a few surprises but, that possibility aside, I can't see past Luton.

I've done them in doubles with Rotherham who are also adding quality to an already good side, and Notts County who are adding decent quality to a not very good side but may bring in a few more before the season kicks off. (Though I think they may have to wait for next season to see any real reward).

Bury, Crewe and Northampton may have a say but otherwise I think Rotherham are a good bet at their prices too.

Good luck to 'em.

They shouldn't have been penalised to such an extent in the first place.

Looks as though they have spent the parachute money already. Risky but nobody wins without taking some risk.

Maybe we should take a risk and invest in a decent striker ;)

They are 3/1 with Blue Square, 11/4 with Ladbrokes :D
