No strikers, no goals, no point

Slow progress for Sammy on the striker front and as no clubs are indicating any interest from MFC one assumes if he is talking to any players they are likely to be released ones.
Considering that all clubs in our division are interested in quality strikers (which are in short supply) it will be extremely difficulty for us to secure a decent one and many would say unrealistic to attract 3 which is what Sammy needs to replace the 3 that have gone. Assumption is that there are countless players available many of which will be holding out for better terms. If this is true then it is unlikely we will be in a position to outbid other clubs when it comes to the crunch which does not augur well. Early days and the time to worry will be when the friendlies start and Curtis, Twiss and Taylor are paraded as our main strike force. Unfortunately outside MFC, Sammy’s influence in attracting players is not as big as we think. It is also widely believed in the football community that he is disappointed in the lack of recognition he has achieved at MFC. For 2 seasons with limited funds he has achieved creditable league positions for a so called nailed on bottom 6 club yet continues to be overlooked for managerial vacancies at larger clubs. One recent example is Port Vale who although they finished below us are a larger club with lots of potential.
Let us hope Sammy still has a few rabbits up his sleeve.

Well where do you start with that drivel?

Thanks for getting up at the crack of dawn to post that crap Ned. Unfortunately I think it's designed to wind up/inflame/troll etc' etc' so I for one will treat it with the contempt it deserves.

Ta ra :D

Does anyone remember Comical Ali? The Iraqi minister fella who during the Iraq invasion insisted Baghdad was safe and the Iraqi's were winning. You've got to hand it to him being so optimistic. Perhaps Simple Ned is his twin? Separated at birth one was the eternal optimist the other was a negative ned.

This guy seemed to go all quiet when we were on our unbeaten streak. Maybe he has mental problems, craves attention?? Who knows.

I'm sure Sammy can do a good job without Ned's help, he has done so far. Every season we've had with Sammy i would regard as being a success, so in my view we should let him get on with it.

There's already a 'transfer activity' thread kicking along quite nicely, Ned, did you miss that one?

Ned is a troll and isn't trying to be constructive but he does inadvertently make some good points that the rest of us can seriously discuss from time to time.

As for the striker issue, we only need 2 more imo. If necessary in terms of wages, we could even make do with just 1 so long as he provides a decent amount of goals. Anyway, we all know how difficult it is to bring quality players to Morecambe but I think we will have some signings before the first friendly is played.
