Impressed me when we've played them.

Also DC is in talks with Bury.....

Overall, not a great deal happening at the moment. Nearly everybody is playing the waiting game.

Sounds as though we are quite a bit out on our valuation with regards to the signing of a new right sided defender......at the moment ;) ;) ;)

I think it's quite surprising how early teams are getting deals done. Notts County have brought in 3 or 4 new faces already, could be another couple coming in the next week or so.

Looks like their own fans "abusing" the Notts. County Directors has kicked them into gear :?

Some (probably all) these "Big" Clubs in our League must be desperate for success after years in the doldrums.

Most Clubs have offloaded and are now playing the waiting game, others are striking while the iron is hot.

In footballing terms there was only Chester, Grimsby and Macclesfield (on G.D.) worse than Notts County this season :o

...but are they 'quality' signings?

I'd like to see some more coming our way sooner rather than later, but with limited resources and the need for possibly 4 players only, I'm sure Sammy has those penciled in onto his 'wish list'. I just hope that we don't have a repeat of last close season where 3 of the new signings departed during and at the end of the season.

All the transfer activity that is going on in div 2 it looks as though we will be scraping the bottom of the barrel once again

Ravenhill (Darlo) and Bishop (Barnet) are proven quality players at this level and will improve what was a very weak midfield last season for the Pies (especially in the middle of the park, which Ravenhill should sort out as the man loves a tackle and a booking, 2 reds and 11 yellows last season). They've also signed a lad form Kettering who comes with decent reputation. My county mates seem to think he'll be more of a squad player. When you look at County's side on paper, and the amount that they spend on wages (e.g. Holt and Pilkington, both keepers, both on over £1,500 a week) they really should be doing better than they did in the season just gone.

They have a young winger, Myles Western? who battered us at Meadow Lane. He is out of contract I think, and would be a massive loss to them. They have needed a 20+ goal a season striker for ages (don't we all) and rumour has it they are in for Jack Lester. Not that they need him really (have a decent defence anyway), but Ian Breckin (out of contract at Forest) has also been linked to the Pies. Whenever I saw them play this season they always seemed to pass the ball around and create chances, they just couldn't put them away. Due a good season, worth keeping an eye on the rest of their transfer activity.

Miles Weston i said after we played them at home id like him, he plays on the left wing[LEFT FOOTED] bags of pace & very tricky, he first started off at Charlton

he's one player id like to sign, along with Duffy on the other side, both would make teams think twice about attacking, with space left open at the back for them to EXPLOIT.

cant see the urgency in signing a right back :?

I keep my ear to the ground Marky. ;)

The takeover has taken longer than most expected to go through, now that it is complete I think they might target some names at this level. Clubs of Holt, Bishop (Andy) and now Lester apparently being approached with offers.

They have missed a trick with Lester though. I believe he was out of contract at Chesterfield in the summer, recently penning a new deal. If the takeover had gone through quicker they could have had him for nothing.

No more free tickets for me at Forest next season. Life is a bitch.

They have offered £50K for a (albeit older) 20 goal a season man - I think they are having a gir-affe! The Chesterfield fans thought they might let him go if they got £750K or more

Up to £200K now according to this
