Of course you can buy the Premier League title. In the early 90's Man Uniteds dominance was built on a sound youth system and the ability to poach the best young players off their rivals. More recently they, Chelsea and Liverpool have relied upon big money buys to wrestle the championship amongst each other. Eventually they'll cripple themselves into submission. Liverpool will spend big again this summer, Chelsea only need one man to walk away for the deck of cards to cave in, whilst Manchester United couldn't afford the repayment of the interest applicable on their substancial loan repayments this year despite winning every trophy going. There is a limit on revenues, but not it seems on spending.
Whilst Peterborough have spent a lot of money, they have spent very wisely. Players such as Lewis, Boyd, McLean, Mackail-Smith are probably worth more now than the transfer fee they paid, despite the current financial climate.
