Burnley fans? Championship Play Offs

Burnley fans? Championship Play Offs

Postby Keith » Sun May 10, 2009 2:43 pm

A wee while ago I flippantly promised my missus that if Brunley got to Wembley in the play off final, I'd take her. She's now getting rather excited that they are potentially 90 minutes away from that happening.

Does anyone have any idea as to how I can get hold of a couple of tickets if that happens?

Glory hunter? Yes she is...
Semi-reluctant baby sitter & navigator? Yes I am

(but I will cheer them on if they get there)

Tickets will probably cost you about £80 to £100 each , then your travel expenses another £100 easy . Just go to bookies Keith and put £100 on Burnley win . If you win that will pay for your trip , if you lose it will have been cheaper than taking your good lady to Wembley. :D

I believe Burnley will be getting allocated 36,000. There away legs tommorow and they sold out of 2100 tickets on the first night of sale  you will easily get tickets however.. Just keep checking on www.burnleyfc.com for when they go on general sale if they get there, your best bet would be to ring up, but not via the 0870 number provided on the website as there are massive ques and the call's are costly, if they get to Wembley I will pm you with a local number, avoiding the massive wait and getting straight through. Also, this company is offering transport if they reach wembley www.soccerexpress.co.uk, £30 day return executive coach travel, £59.95 special charter train to wembley central and £79.95 coach and one night hotel package.

 My dads a big Burnley fan you see...

If they get there and you are struggling for a couple of tickets let me know, plus how much you want to spend on her, I may well be able to help.

She brought me a cup of tea at 08:55hrs. Went to Ticketzone. Looked at the available seats using a seating plan on a different web site. Returned to Ticketzone at about 9:05am to book...

Server has crashed!

The whole site has gone down now! Good job it's not a big game!

Wifey getting pee'd off now (naughty words coming out!) because she's now trying the phone number that they put up instead. Takes five minutes to listen to all the menu crap before it says 'due to high volume, we can't take your call right now'... it could be a long day!

What a complete farce!!!

Perhaps a local media company may want to drop an e-mail to Ticket Zone explaining how they could have built a much more robust system for them???

On one occasion, they crashed but showed me the error message. If anyone is geeky enough to want to work out what they've done wrong...

Transaction (Process ID 54) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim

Geek answer: Your ticket application is trying to change the same database record as someone else's ticket request. Both of you are trying to gain exclusive access to a databsae record, the server has had to decide which one of you should be allowed to continue and which one told to get lost. You lost.

Non-Geek answer: you're a tight git faking internet errors doing everything you can not to take Elaine to Wembley

Remote Address 87.***.***.** (that'll be me then?)

Yes, that's you. So is this

Browser Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042315 Firefox/3.0.10

You're using a firefox browser on a MAc running OS X 10.4.

Amazing what your PC tells the world without you ever knowing. The beatuy of a PC (and possibly a Mac) is the stuff in brackets can be found and changed in the registry. Anyone checking my records a few years ago would have found "sod off you nosey git" in there instead. Unfortunately web sites use the information to decide whether their site will work with your browser. An invalid entry would often see the site blocked so I put it back how it should be.

I can't believe that, I think they are just saying that because the site is down.

As I was writing this, we finally got through, they still had lots of £38 & £50 tickets but would only sell us two. They wouldn't send a third ticket out to the same billing address, so Elaine couldn't buy two, then me buy the third to guarentee they were all together. Total and utter farce. No point spending three more hours on the phone for a ticket that is unlikely to be anywhere near us.
