Demolition Christy Park

Demolition Christy Park

Postby meatpie » Thu May 07, 2009 7:10 pm

At the end of next season Christy park will be demolished I was wondering what part of the ground you would like to take home and why? Perhaps a flood light as an unusual patio heater or maybe the pie hatch in the main stand would make an ideal seventies style serving hatch in my dining room? :?:

That would be murder, literally. Unless, of course, you don't know how to spell the name of Morecambe's ground and you didn't mean you were going to demolish an american photographer.

The ticket office(tardis) in the car park could be my farther in-law's birthday present for next year.

Personally i will be taking a piece of turf in front of dug outs where my dads ashes are scattered - last game at christie will be very emotional for me in more ways than one

I was thinking about this when i found out Sainsburys were coming. I think there will be a few
peoples ashes scattered on the hallowed Christie turf and thereabouts. Maybe a small plaque in the Car Park/Grounds just to allow their families to remember them. Or/and a tree of rememberence at the New ground to carry on there wishes to be near/with Morecambe F.C.

A tricky subject, but i think something should be done out of respect.

On this last subject, Manchester City have a small garden of rememberance. Doesn't take up much room and folk can take flowers/wreaths or what ever and it seems to be a very effective method for people to remember loved ones who like the game. Just on here we've known of many who are no longer with us, and if this helped those who are left behind it has to be worthwhile.
