Harsh? Better or worse?
The photo is hardly representative is it?
It's of one the most photo'd statues in UK, with an ever changing panoramic view.
Now, take a photo from behind Eric 'n' Ernie and what have you got for a back-drop?
Apart from the view, the bracing walks, and the statue what brings people to Morecambe?
A flea market on a Sunday on an otherwise empty car park!
The objective should be the top 10. What's the chances?

Just be thankfull that we don't have to contend with the louts who frequent Blackpool.

Even to those who live there, they regard the town as a bloody disgrace. Ask the Hoteliers what they expect for the coming season and it's another season of gloom with no sign of it getting better in the near future.

We might have the rain but give me Morecambe before Blackpool anyday.

Best just to completely ignore these idiots.

When the numpty who compiled the 'Britain's Crappest Places to Live' list a few years ago started it off it became clear to me precisely what it was.

He had lived here for a while during the time his dad had a very highly paid job in our health service, paid by us and serving our district.

The son then got linked with some publishing and online business and started a few 'comment' type sites, one of which focused on these 'crap' towns - done in a very studenty, puerile whingeing tone.

The idea, later, was to slag places off, get the locals up in arms, get them contacting their local papers who would run stories about the website.

Then he got more people jumping on it, got more material and eventually published a book which he was then able to sell. At the start, when they were touting us as being included in a book about 'crap' towns - there WAS NO BOOK.

That only happened later after all the publicity.

He rang me to tell me we'd been included and did I want to respond. I told him I knew precisely what it was about and that whatever he did he would do without any publicity from us.

We never touched the story - because there wasn't one. Same with this.

See them for what they are and ignore them.
