It just goes from bad to worse for Darlo.

Penney was a strong candidate to take over at Bratford assuming that Mc resigns tomorrow.

THURSDAY UPDATE

Oooops I got that one wrong...

McCall is to stay on reduced salary at Bratford. Mixed reception from the Brat fans.
His playing budget has been severly reduced which means that some high earners could be on their way IF they don't accept a cut in wages.

I'll be surprised if he does because his playing budget has been dramatically cut to such a degree that many of the higher wage earners will have to take a massive cut to stay at Bratford.

At least McCall has made one right decision, from his point of view anyway. How many Chairman would hire him as a manager? He had a playing budget of almost £2m and couldn't even make the play offs.

They could be releasing 18 players :o

Then you have Darlington who will be letting everyone go and now Stockport are in admin there will be a few there lots of players and some good ones to choose from this summer.

Strange as it sounds, the enforced reduction in playing budget could work in Bradford's favour. Any players who agree to take a wage cut will be doing so because they want to stay. New arrivals won't be getting paid as much and so will be joining because they want to play for the club, rather than because of the money. If you've got players who want to play for the club rather than the money then surely you'll get a better team spirit and better work ethic?

...and so it begins.

There will be many players becoming available. Some will feel that it is better to get paid less at a financially stable club than hold out for more at a club teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.

The Bradford budget has been cut to about 1.3 million and their chairman reckons that they will still be in the top eight as far the playing budget is concerned, it would be interesting to know the budget of every team at the start of the season and see how that equates to the final league table.

If Bradford don't make a good start to next season then i can see him getting the boot fairly early on, cant see the Bradford fans being very patient even with the cut in budget.
