Burton or Cambridge?

Burton or Cambridge?

Postby Christies Child » Sun Apr 26, 2009 4:21 pm

This is going down to the wire.

Burton 2-1 down at Oxford and Cambridge 0-0 v Alty.

Have Burton under new manager Mcfarlene blown it after leading by 17 points?

Cloughy must be fearing the worst for his former charges.

McFarland

Quite intersting really, though I'm rooting for the Brewers. If Burton lose and Cambridge win, Cambridge can draw level on points but in order to over-haul Burton at the top they need to improve their goal difference.

Assuming Burton conceed no goals Cambridge would still require to beat Alty by four clear goals. Which I don't think they will with 15 or so minutes to go.

It all gets interesting if Burton conceed one or two more goals though.

You've got to applaud Cambridge for even taking it this far. I believe at one point they were 21 points behind Burton in the table.

Former Southport manager is now in charge at Cambridge and took Stephen Drench on loan to Cambridge mid season.

If Kiddy win and Stevenage loose Kiddy go into play-ofs at expence of 'boro.

No guessing that i'd like Kiddy and not 'boro. I don't hate many clubs but they are the one exception!

Agreed, especially as Graham "destiny will always take over" Westley is in charge. Nice ground and fans though.

Cambridge have drawn 0-0 with Altrincham, despite teh fact that Burton are currently losing to Torquay they have finally been promoted to the FL!

Phew...congrats to Burton. Finally achieved it. Would be great if we played 'em first. Remember the Barnet banner? We could do the same.

Play offs are Cambridge v Torquay and Histon v Stevenage.

If only Kiddy had won........!!!!!!!

Don't think so as Torquay's win takes them above 'boro.
2nd v 4th and 3rd v 5th

What's the chances I've got that wrong as well..... :( :( :(
