Has the initial ground works started on the new stadium yet? According to the last update of 2 March it was scheduled to commence on Monday 20 April.

The club appear to have done Westgate Wanderers proud in the development of their new home.

Nothing obvious going on yet, at least not upto last night when I just happened to be driving past the area

When it gets underway, I'd expect to see a huge board saying 'New site for Morecambe Football Club Stadium.....thanks to Sainsburys'......

Seriously a site board with images of the proposed finished stadium would be superb and would be a constant reminder of what is to come in just over 14 months time.



No doubt some of SVs talented 'artists' will be hard at play doing visuals....

If you look at the plans on the stadium web site and visit the area, you'll see the club own land beyond WW's current useage, beyond the fencing that surrounds the existing pitches. Some work would not need WW to be off the land nor would it disturb them. I walked around the land last weekend, it's a bit large
