I went )as a freeby) to see Manure play Blackburn a coupe of seasons ago - 0-0 was the score and the game - considering the value of players on the pitch was absolutely dire - the person (man u fan) I went with admitted that if they played like that every week, she wouldn`t go anymore!

Wycombe away last season, Morecambe Mick gave it his all to get us down there on time, the sat nav read Predicted Arrival time = 7:30ish and it seem like we were going to make it even though, due to work commitments, we had set off at 3:30. We hit a bad spell of traffic and got there with about 10 minutes to go in the first half, then they took our names, address, date of birth, blood type, everything for the tickets. It took so long to get them we got in during half time at which point the bloke on the door said "if you'd have waited 10 mins I'd hav got you in for free, mate" :x. We were one nil down and we had one shot from about 35 yards, it was from Stanners and it trickled along the ground. We lost 2-0 and I barely recognised anyone

Acci Stanley v Morecambe.
Acci down to ten men.
Morecambe play for a draw, five in defence.
Acci attack us.

Acci win, we were awful.

So how did that work out then?

Would that be the one where Lee McEvilly was sent off, followed by a total capitulation by us.

Can still here the shouts of where's the passion Harvey as the team and manager left the field.

Bolton v Middlesborough a shocking 0v0 which made an hour and a half feel like 5 hours.

Leigh RMI, Lost 1-0, it was freezing, the firemen were on strike so they closed half the stadium and apparently took all of Leighs fans with them too!

terrible experience.

Ferryhill Athletic (away) 1989/90 season. F A Trophy 1st Qualifying Round. This came just one week after a 0-4 DRUBBING at NWCL Colwyn Bay. We lost at Ferryhill 0-2.
Pitch had a slope even Eddie Edwards could have made use of, no programmes, no home fans, no food ...... Even before the match Larry Milligan was heard singing "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" as he walked down the players tunnel after the warm up. First half was dobbins. Second half kicked off, Steve "Adder" Holden literally let fly after Cainy's gentle knock on. The ball was last seen soaring over the Gateshead Metro Centre to which the pretty much entire away support of myself, the late Dave Whalley, and Mick Thornton uttered something along the lines of "**** this" and spent the majority of the second half in the bar. Dreadful day.

in 'honour' of tonight i'm giong to nominate away against lancaster in Lancs Junior Cup a couple of seasons ago. cold (wet??) and an absolutely appalling game where tommo equalised late on to ensure e.t. and then penalties, where if memory serves lancaster retook a couple of saved penalties because davies had come off his line.

terrible match in a tinpot trophy that we will hopefully never have to play in again!

no programmes

Round 2 1st Leg - October 22nd 1980
Aberdeen 0 Liverpool 1
I had exactly the same experience at this match - the worst match for non-footballing reasons really. We travelled with the 'Lime Street Special' for some reason so we had to get to L'Pool and the train took forever. When we arrived we were'nt welcome ! requiring a police escort to the ground - then NO PROGRAMMES -I had to sell my soul later to get my hands on one. Then another hostile march back to the train station - being spat at and I think somebody had a bucket of pi** poured on them out of a window. On the train home the train juddered to a halt and the police marched on - some scallys had done over an off licence and the police meant business -didn't leave till they'd apprehended the culprits.
Ahh the good old days.
