Today's Ref

Started to spray the yellow cards a bit much late on, but I thought he generally had a good game.

He tried to let the game flow, often letting some dodgy challenges go for both sides. It was a change to see a game that's supposed to be physical actually be allowed to pan out that way.

I thought he had a good game and made a lot of good decissions just the type we needed for this game.

i thought he didnt keep up with play enough & didnt book enough of their players & he let them get away with pushes & plenty of shirt pulling. Howe should never have been booked.

Apart from the Howe booking which was just wrong, I think he had the best refereeing performance I've seen this season.

Shouldn't really have any complaints about this ref, he looked very capable and kept players from both sides on their toes, the game was generally played in a good spirit and I was impressed when he booked BOTH players for the handbags incident, Rene had obviously been winding the defender up since he scored and it was getting out of hand. Well done ref, not sure Bradford will agree. Just a quick reminder to the bantams responsible for some very ungracious posts on our forum when they beat us at their place, today there were some very very sore losers in all areas of our ground at full time today, I'd like to pay particular tribute to the ones who have taken so much of an interest in our tiny tin pot club over the recent years, firthysexgod thank you for your support, see you next year pal :-)

Well done to the officials today, they all kept the game flowing which always makes for an entertaining spectacle. Too much shirt pulling from both sides IMO tho.

I thought the officials were awful today.

They missed a blatant penalty for you in the first half, and a clear goal for us in the second half, when the ball was a good foot over the line.

How anyone can credit the officials with having a good game when they missed the two big decisions is beyond me tbh.

I think we're saying more about the quality of other refs we've had in this league rather than the quality of todays ref.

Father Ted, your own fans have said it wasn't over the line in the second half!

Bradford City..We win = good officials today. We lose = awful officials today . Don't want to sound like a bad loser = officials were bad for both teams today

I think the Howe booking was fine - both players were over the line with that they were doing - Howe was doing his best to get the Bradford player sent off. Not his finest hour after his great goal.

Experienced Championship ref handled the game very well. Had to yellow card players for shirt pulling too.

Yeah but the thing is, you lost the game, stop using it as an excuse! We scored more goals than you did, end of story! :D

It also seems to be forgotten that a cast iron handball in the area by a Bradford player wasn't given (I think while we were 1-0 down); again an event which could have changed the game, and we weren't given despite the ref being ideally placed (seemingly).

These things go both ways!

Best Ref I've seen this season. His assistants and him got every decision right all game.

As posted on the Telegraph & Argus site.

I was in a perferct position, just to the right of goal, to see whether it was over the line or not. And I can say, uncatagorically that it was NOT over the line. Their keeper spilled the ball, but then managed to trap it as it was ON the line. About half of the ball was over the line, but its only a goal if all the ball is over - correct decision by the ref and linesman. We weren't robbed, we weren't good enough !
As much as I admire McCall, and I will continue to support him, it is becoming a difficult task.

Another point is that WE didn't cheat. The officials make the decisions, not the players.
