Tranmere went two up, Howe pulled one back. Sounds like a decent end to the first half and through the second half?

I think our best defensive line up is last year's - Adams, Artell, Bentley and Yates. Ryan McCann has not impressed me and wonder if Parish is better as a central defender-his distribution from defence is not as good as either Adams or Yates.
Fraser looks off the pace as does Drummond; I think Carr lookes good and also Stanley when he came on. Wainright for me looks better on the right and Wiles had a poor game. There wee no real penetrative crosses from Wainright or Wiles. I think Curtis and Hunter played well and both have a good work ethic I would play Curtis as the left sided midfielder-providing no one else comes along.
For me the star of the day was Howe he looked lively, skilful and worked hard, had 2 or 3 good chances before his goal. Blinkhorn still does not look like scoring and I would have him on the bench. Twiss was not in the game today so for me I think the striking pair would be Howe and O’carroll. Against stronger teams such as Tranmere I would be inclined to play five in the mid-filed.
I was worried about the long periods in the first half when we were locked in our own half and appeared to have few outlets, other than hoofing it up thye field hoping blinkorn or O'Caroll maight be lucky enough to get on the end of it.

Another fussy Premier League referee, I see!

The game ended on a sour note for Tranmere, with Henry shown a red card for a high tackle on David Artell.

Unusual in a friendly, he'll get a three match ban when the season starts I believe.

Not surprising for a friendly, it was the only card shown. I thought ref's were always soft with the cards in friendlies, but I suppose it must've been bad enough to warrant the red. Wasn't there a sending off in one of last summer's friendlies?

Note the low attendance. The beach must've been busy today, then! 8-)

I don't think the ref should have sent him off
