Eventually confirmed in the following thread although it's beginning to sound like he's sold to a mate in the same line of business and the new owner might not be CCFC's saviour after all.

"apparently he's been bankrupt 5 times someone i know said.. "

Can't work out if they've had a press conference or not this afternoon but the deal hasn't been finalised and Vaughan is still in charge, even though "STEPHEN Vaughan has assured fans he has left Chester City in safe hands after selling the cash-strapped club yesterday.". Nor do they expect to get new players in before the deadline.

Sounds like he is more interested in obtaining planning permission to develop the land than what happens on the green stuff.

Thank the Lord for our Board :!:

I can't understand why Chester want to develop the ground they have small attendances and it is in the middle of nowhere so surley it can't be for other income reasons.

"I was in the Army"

"We’ve created a new vehicle, called Spirit Football Ltd,"

"We’ve got 1,600 hardcore Chester City supporters that come week-in, week-out, but that isn’t enough"
"We looked at it last year and if we could get 3,800 paying customers through the gates it could move the club forward naturally"

"And let’s not kid each other. I’m here with a commercial hat on. I’m not a Chester guy, I’m based in Liverpool, so I see an opportunity and the opportunity is to develop the football stadium and create an asset that can be worth a considerable amount of money."

"I don’t think the local authority will grant planning consent unless the football club is an integral part of the whole stadium redevelopment."

I wonder who the other 2 clubs who are operating above their salary cap are if Chester are not one of them...and why are they not embargoed or have they been able to keep it out of the public domain which was hinted at at the recent shareholders meeting?

I think they are....Mark Wright keeps moaning about not being able to bring in his own players.

I thought that Mark Wright was going to be putting some of his own money into the club this time....which is why he was brought back? After he takes Chester down (though I doubt many could have done much better) he'll need to be owning a club to get a job in management. Not many clubs will touch him given his record.
